The Truth about Love

Ian Page and his award-winning ensemble celebrate Mozart’s birthday with an enchanting exploration of love in the composer’s operas. The programme features arias and ensembles from 'The Marriage of Figaro', 'The Magic Flute', 'Don Giovanni', 'Così fan tutte', 'Idomeneo' and 'La clemenza di Tito', alongside rarer highlights from La finta semplice and La finta giardiniera. Each musical item is prefaced by a reading of a related poem, with works by Shakespeare, Yeats, Auden and others adding context, humour and pathos. Five outstanding young singers appear alongside an orchestra widely regarded as one of today’s finest Mozart interpreters.
