Beethoven for Brass

The Prince Regent’s Band—an ensemble of leading specialists in historic brass instruments—will present the launch concert for its new CD, "Beethoven for Brass", as part of Baroquestock Festival’s "Forms of Freedom" season exploring Beethoven’s symphonies in chamber arrangements. Showcasing the exceptional artistry and sophistication of early nineteenth-century brass chamber music, the programme features rare Swedish brass transcriptions of Beethoven’s works alongside the UK premiere of a recently rediscovered brass ensemble arrangement of Symphony No. 1. Originally planned for 2020 and delayed by the pandemic, the recording is finally released in 2027 to mark the bicentenary of Beethoven’s death.
