1039 is an exploration of the creative meeting point between baroque music and jazz. Liturina is collaborating with jazz musician and composer Jonny Mansfield to produce a new commission that makes use of historical instruments in surprising and innovative ways, based on the trio sonata BWV 1039 by Bach. This follows on from our previous commission, 1038. Both works will be recorded for Liturina’s debut album as well as recorded live in concert.
