Depicting Mary at the foot of the cross, grieving the death of her son, Stabat Mater (1736) captures the pain of a mother's loss, inviting listeners to share in her sorrow. Augmented by commissioned music from Alex Mills (BBC NOW, Hermes Experiment, EXAUDI), Figure's production will immerse audiences in this profound and moving scene.
