THE VAUXHALL BAND

The 18th Century London Flautist

Image-empty-state.png
A small pocket of creative activity by specialist London instrument makers led to a vast output of finely-crafted, unique flutes. Step inside the world of the eighteenth-century London flautist and experience a concert programme inspired by the stories of the craftsmen who made the flutes and the well-known flautists who performed on them. Join us at St Cecilia’s Hall in Edinburgh, where examples of these flutes are housed in the museum, and at historic pub Mc & Sons in Vauxhall for concerts of chamber music by Handel, Lewis Granom, Carl Weiss, James Oswald, Thomas Arne, William Boyce and some folk tunes.
