Vivaldi’s Summer Flower Collection is the second in a series of concerts that brings to life Manchester’s Newman Flower collection, which contains an abundance of scarcely performed manuscripts. This includes a set of part-books to Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, providing a lens on the performance practices of the period and an exciting opportunity for musicians and communities to connect. The project will involve early-career musicians from the Mancunium Consort and from our Fellowship scheme. In parallel to the concert we will work with schools in a cross-arts project, exploring how the Vivaldi part-books came to be in Manchester.
