MOZART 250: ‘1772 – A RETROSPECTIVE’

Image-empty-state.png
Our ground-breaking 27-year MOZART 250 project follows the chronological trajectory of Mozart’s life, works and influences starting with his childhood visit to London and projected to end with his final Requiem. Each year, an important part of our programming is dedicated to exploring the musical landscape 250 years earlier, beginning with an annual retrospective concert each January. These fascinating programmes exploring the music being written and performed in a single year provide an illuminating context to Mozart’s work. We are in the process of creating a new web space to share this unique journey with wider audiences.

On 27 January 2022 we continue the series with ‘1772 – a retrospective’ at Cadogan Hall, in a concert featuring Swiss-Belgian soprano Chiara Skerath. The repertoire includes magnificent symphonies by Mozart and Haydn and exquisite arias by such largely neglected composers as Traetta and Gassmann.
