Obsidian Baroque will present a concert series celebrating the remarkable women of Baroque music - not just as composers, but as performers, collaborators, and inspirations. Featuring instrumental works by Anna Bon, Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, Madame Laschansky, Isabella Leonarda, and others, these performances will go beyond the music itself: each concert will combine live performance with discussion and visual storytelling, exploring how these women navigated a male-dominated musical world. Focusing on instrumental chamber music, we'll also premiere new works by contemporary female composers for period instruments, connecting the past with today's generation of women composers.
