Music from Purcell's 'King Arthur' is frequently performed. However, this Restoration masterpiece is not often presented in its full form. Then as now, London was a melting pot of musical influences, and Purcell was able to synthesise these into a style which was uniquely both international and quintessentially English. Our production will include the spoken word and dance elements which are rarely performed but an essential part of the work’s identity.
