BAROQUE IN THE NORTH

Friends in High Places

Join us for an hour of beautiful music as we celebrate the launch of our second album, Friends in High Places. The concert will be followed by refreshments. Best-described as a delicate classical bagpipe, the musette’s patronage by Louis XIV meant that it became a novel plaything of composers, performers and makers seeking Royal favour. Disappearing with the French Revolution, the musette was only rediscovered during the 1960s and this album showcases the instrument’s unique sound world in combination with another musette, baroque flute, baroque cello and harpsichord. Join us for the rare chance to hear these works. Photo credit: Paul Husband
