CEDAR CONSORT

Telemann’s Subscribers

Image-empty-state.png
Georg Philipp Telemann’s (1681-1767) progressive zeitgeist and inventiveness rendered him highly esteemed by colleagues and audiences alike. In 1721 he launched a subscription service that would enable his supporters to receive new compositions hot-off-the-press. Subscribers ranged from the nobility to amateur musicians and also illustrious composers. The Cedar Consort, directed by Benedict Williams, are delighted to be performing music by J.S. Bach, Michel Blavet, Telemann & Handel, alongside the recorder soloist, Tabea Debus. Performances will take place in January/February 2023 at Leamington Music, Stapleford Granary and Stamford Arts.
