La Serenissima will make a new recording putting music from a host of unjustly neglected Italian baroque composers (Brescianello, Dall’Abaco, Sammartini, Vivaldi & Zavateri) into context alongside the work of the most famous composer of the settecento, Antonio Vivaldi. The album will showcase the playing of rising star Tabea Debus, creating employment for La Serenissima’s core string team and maintaining connection with global audiences via radioplay, streaming and physical sales. The album will be released on the Signum label in Spring 2022 and will follow in the footsteps of award-winning recordings The French Connection, The Italian Job and chart-topping album Vivaldi X2.
