HMSC are delighted to introduce our 40th anniversary recital programme, 'Merchants of Venice', an exploration of musical and cultural links between London and Venice in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. We will be filming and recording part of this programme in July 2021, with generous support from Continuo Foundation, ahead of a streaming event in September. As part of our commitment to emerging historical performers, we will be expanding our forces to perform sumptuous eight-part instrumental music of the Venetian school, as well as exploring lesser-known pieces by composers from both cities.
