Title

THE VAUXHALL BAND

The Vauxhall Band Basset Horn Trio

Image-empty-state.png
When Czech musicians Messrs Dworschack, David and Springer came to London in 1791 and performed at Vauxhall Gardens as a basset horn trio, the instrument was relatively new to London. These mysterious and unusual sounding instruments, with their colourful, earthy tones, created great interest.

This project is the launch of The Vauxhall Band Basset Horn Trio: Katherine Spencer, Sarah Thurlow and Fiona Mitchell.

Concerts will take place at Lewes Baroquefest, Saint Anne’s, Kew and the Edinburgh Fringe, before bringing basset horns to Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens (possibly for the first time in 232 years!) with a concert at the Tea House Theatre.
