PROJECT DESCRIPTION
On 3.10.26, we’ll reconnect with audiences in Southeast England, performing an imaginative, entertaining & newly created programme at Brighton Early Music Festival. We’ll combine popular works by Handel and Rameau with stunning, little-known music by Ucellini, Falconiero and others, colourfully characterizing the planets of our solar system.
Partnering with BREMF, we’ll use an ensemble of 15 professional players plus 2 members of their Emerging Artists scheme As past participants, we’re ideally placed to offer advice, professional training and invaluable, real-world experience.
Sustaining a public presence is a huge challenge. After an absence of 4 years, it’s vital we seize this chance to make an impact, reconnect with audiences in the region & build firm relationships with the new BREMF directors. We have a strong track-record combining gateway composers to draw in audiences with rare gems, inspiring wider listening. Actively resisting trends towards smaller forces & narrow programming. To remain current, attract new Patrons & develop our reputation for excellence, we must create opportunities at the highest level.
With an eye to the future, our concert is a valuable opportunity to present new work and lay the groundwork for a large-scale project in 2028/9 (the next phase of Continuo supported Inspiring Bach) establishing key relationships with the region’s wider Arts community; best done when we can actively demonstrate our own work live & make face-to-face connections.
