PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In November 2025 we’ll make our debut at the prestigious London Festival of Baroque Music and build audiences for Early Music with a return to key regional hub, Wiltshire Music Centre. Our virtuosic programme, The Leipzig Legacy combines instrumental works by gateway composer JS Bach and rarely heard gems by Fasch and Graupner, for which we’ve commissioned modern editions.

We’ll showcase our group and champion wider programming at these two high-profile concerts, building on our proven track-record delivering impactful, engaging performances of the highest quality, inc Continuo supported Inspiring Bach tour (‘21/22) and Music to her Majestie (’23).

We want to significantly grow our public profile/reputation for excellence. Appearing at major venues/festivals/in publicity alongside more established artists is vital to attract new audiences, engage with press and new supporters and make meaningful, top-level connections for future work. We’ve been working with WMC for 10 years to bring larger projects to the area, encouraging greater audience engagement with Early Music. Their audience is growing. We can play a big part in sustaining and developing it further.

To make the most of the project/build-in longevity, we’ll film/employ a photographer (acknowledging a noted request from promoters for new digital assets). This eye-catching material keeps us current/visible and can be used for long-term promotion, helping us capitalise on any press and publicity generated.

With a dynamic programme and virtuoso team of 20 elite musicians, this project will put us on the map, marking us out as ambitious, progressive performers at the highest level.

IMPACT OF GRANT

We’ve committed to performing an impactful, live programme of considerable difficulty to an exceptional standard. To be successful, we must employ optimum forces and take time to thoroughly rehearse. A Continuo grant will enable us to fully seize this vital opportunity.

We have limited resources/other funding avenues due to recent work. A grant will powerfully impact the project, employ the maximum number of performers and signal the value of our work to the Early Music community and beyond.
