Little Things in Odd Shapes
Each programme is conceived around a story related to either a musical form, a forgotten instrument or a lesser-known composer. All include at least one familiar composer or work. Repertoire will focus on the mixed-ensemble chamber works from the end of the 18th century. For each concert we will also commission new arrangements of large-scale works, in keeping with the historical practice of arranging for the musicians available. Our "Odd Shapes" heroes so far are: M. Haydn, L. Boccherini, L. Gatti, P. Wranitzky and F.A. Hoffmeister, among others.
"Little Things in Odd Shapes" is a series of 5 monthly concerts in collaboration with Baroquestock, Heath Street Baptist Church, Royal Philharmonic Society and the Italian Cultural Institute in London.
Concerts will be hosted by Heath Street Baptist Church.
